Two people wearing masks and aprons work at a table, focused on a tablet and a notebook. They're in a modern, well-lit cafe setting.

The Oregon Young Employee Safety Coalition (O[yes]) recently posted a blog on Young Workers and COVID-19. As a way of addressing unique concerns and risks presented to young workers related to COVID-19, O[yes] produced a short fifteen minute video in which I interview Averie Foster, an Oregon OSHA Occupational Health Consultant to talk about the issues young workers and parents face today and every day on the job.

The mission of O[yes] is to prevent injuries and illnesses to young workers through outreach, advocacy, and sharing of resources with young workers, educators, employers, parents, and labor organizations. The coalition has been around for more than a decade and is most known for its Media Contest (previously video contest) for high school students and its Young Employee Safety Awareness online training.
